GENERAL INFORMATION
 
We are pleased to announce an expanded slate of workshops
at Nordic Roots Festival 2001.

All workshops will take place at:
University of Minnesota School of Music
Ferguson Hall
2106 Fourth Street South
Minneapolis, MN 55455

Please note:
  • The workshop fee is $25 per session for participants with instruments, $10 for silent auditors.
  • Cash only.
  • Workshop fees are not covered by the Festival Pass.
  • Admission will be collected inside each room, after everyone is seated.
  • Time is limited, please have exact change ready as you take your seat.
  • Space is limited. Sign up in advance through e-mail:

    Or at the Nordic Roots Festival table in the lobby of the Holiday Inn on Thursday and Friday.

  • 10:00 am to Noon
    JEWS HARP WORKSHOP with Terje Isungset (Groupa).
    Room 107 - All levels
    Key of 'D' jews harp required.
     
  • 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
    NYCKELHARPA WORKSHOP with Markus Svensson (Nyckelharpa Orchestra).
    Room 105 - All levels except beginners
     
  • 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
    HARDANGER FIDDLE WORKSHOP with Daniel Sandén-Warg (Harv)

    ACCORDION WORKSHOP with Karen Tweed (Swåp).
    Room 107 - All levels except beginners, piano accordion preferred
     
  • 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
    "2ND PART FIDDLE" WORKSHOP with Magnus Stinnerbom (Harv, Hedningarna).
    Room 105 - All levels except beginners
     
  • 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
    VOCAL WORKSHOP with Ulrika Bodén and Sofia Sandén (Ranarim).
    Room 107 - All levels: Folk singing and kulning (cow-calling)
